Lelies

Musical

#ABOUT THE PROJECT

Lelies is a poignant musical adaptation of Michel Marc Bouchard’s acclaimed play Les Feluettes, brought to the stage by InTeam Productions. Set in a Canadian prison in 1952, the narrative unfolds as Bishop Jean Bilodeau is summoned to hear the final confession of inmate Simon Doucet. Instead of a traditional confession, Simon orchestrates a theatrical reenactment of events from their shared past, compelling the bishop to confront long-buried truths. The play delves into a complex love triangle from 1912 involving young Simon, the aristocratic Vallier de Tilly, and the envious Bilodeau. As the inmates perform this layered drama within the prison chapel, themes of forbidden love, betrayal, and the quest for redemption emerge, challenging perceptions and evoking deep emotional responses.

InTeam Productions’ rendition of Lelies is marked by its evocative musical compositions by Sam Verhoeven and insightful direction by Niels de Valk. The production’s minimalist staging and powerful performances have resonated with audiences, reaffirming the timeless relevance of its themes.

Broadway Productions was responsible for the full post-production of the show. This included the complete editing of the full-form stage recording, as well as the creation of promotional videos used for marketing and audience outreach. Our contribution helped ensure that the emotional depth and visual impact of LELIES were preserved and effectively conveyed in all media formats.
